My Way My World
Privacy & Terms

How we handle your information.

Written in plain language. Last updated October 16, 2026.

The short version

  • Most things you make here, like your schedule, feelings check-ins, All About Me card and game scores, are saved only in your own browser. We never see them.
  • If you make a free account, we keep your email address and a scrambled version of your password. We never sell or share your email.
  • My Way My World is free. There's nothing to buy, and we never ask for payment details.
  • We don't show ads, sell information, or use tracking cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you logged in.
  • River, our guided helper, runs only in your browser. Nothing you type to it is sent anywhere.
  • If you send us a message on the Contact page, we get what you write so we can reply.

Saved on your device

Your comfort settings (text size, colors, movement), your schedule, feelings check-ins, All About Me card, timer settings, sound choices and game scores are stored in your browser's local storage. They stay on that device and that browser. We can't see or collect them. To delete them, use the clear buttons on each page or clear your browser's site data.

Free accounts

To use My Day, the games, the Fidget Corner and the All About Me card, you make a free account with your email and a password. We keep your email address, the date you signed up, and whether you asked for update emails.

Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read it. We use your email only to run your account, help you get back in if you forget your password, and, only if you ticked the box, send occasional news about new games and tools. Every update email lets you stop them, or you can turn them off on your My account page.

You can delete your account any time on the My account page. The Calm Corner, Resources and crisis information never need an account.

River

Right now, River is a guided helper with ideas written by people. It runs only in your browser. Nothing you type to River is sent to us or anyone else, and it disappears when you close the page.

River is a guide, not a person, a therapist, a doctor, or an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (US), or call 911 if you are in danger.

If we ever add an AI version of River, we'll update this page first to explain how it works.

Logging in

When you log in, we set one cookie that keeps you logged in on that device. It is not used for tracking or ads. You can log out any time to remove it.

If you forget your password, we email you a login link. It works once and expires after 30 minutes.

The contact form

When you use the Contact page, we receive your message, and your name and email if you give them. We use them only to read and reply to your message. We don't add you to mailing lists or share your details. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to send the message for you.

Other services the site uses

  • Hosting: our web host keeps standard server logs, such as internet addresses and pages visited, to keep the site running and secure.
  • Fonts: our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google can see your internet address when the page loads.
  • Read aloud: if you turn on Read aloud, your own device's built-in voice reads River's words. Nothing is sent to us.

Kids on this site

The games, calming tools and schedule for kids don't ask kids for any personal information. Accounts for children under 13 must be made by a parent or caregiver, River is made for teens and adults, and the contact form asks children under 13 to have a parent write to us. If you think a child under 13 made an account without a parent, contact us and we'll delete it.

Terms of use

  • This site shares general tools and information. It is not medical, psychological, or legal advice.
  • The tools, games and River are provided as they are. We do our best to keep them helpful and safe, but we can't promise they'll always be available or error-free.
  • Everything on My Way My World is free. The Calm Corner, Resources and crisis information don't even need an account.
  • Please keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else knows your password, change it on the My account page.
  • Please be kind and respectful in anything you send us.
  • We may update this page. When we do, we'll change the date at the top.
